Armored Core 6 is set to be a lot of fun, despite its departure from FromSoftware’s world-building philosophy. It will feature fast-paced omnidirectional battles where you can customize your mech for each mission, including its posture system which lets you strike from various angles and take advantage of massive stages. This deep level of mech customization is a hallmark of the series and will allow you to find a playstyle that suits you. It’s due to release on 25 August for the PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S or PC.
Crash Team Rumble
Crash Bandicoot may not seem an obvious choice for a multiplayer game that involves teams, but the closed beta this weekend of Crash Team Rumble showed that the series is still capable of delivering cartoonish, slapstick-style action. This new game from developer Toys for Bob puts classic heroes and villains into a 4v4 online brawler that pits competitors against one another in a race to collect Wumpa Fruit across a variety of charming maps.
Using their characters’ different abilities, players will need to stomp through maps as they try to fill up a meter with Wumpa Fruit in order to win. As well as attacking and sabotaging each other, they’ll also need to use crates, environmental hazards, and power-ups to help them along the way.
It’s like a cross between Splatoon, and a slightly chaotic Fortnite. But it has enough of its charm to give it a unique identity. With a release date set for June 20, and a limited-time closed beta running from April 20 to April 24, Crash Team Rumble seems poised to make its mark in the crowded multiplayer gaming space. Just be careful to not get into a fight with the wrong team.
Lords Of The Fallen
Lords of the Fallen is one of the most enticing new games when it comes to avoiding horrifying monsters. The reboot of CI Games’ 2014 game, co-developed with Deck 13 and now being worked on by Hexworks for PC, PS4, and Xbox Series X/S, promises a more Soulslike experience in a world five times larger than its predecessor.
The first trailer, which is narrated Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn, showcases the game’s atmospheric environment and grotesque enemy. The enemies range from blubbering pus sacks to poison-spouting spiders while massive armored beasts chomp down on otherworldly creatures. The Lords of the Fallen is also a more accessible RPG, with short dialog and cutscenes. You won’t be bombarded with nonsense fantasy language or interminable exposition.
It’s a hard to predict how the Lords of the Fallen will perform in the long run, but it looks like it has all the markings of a promising successor to FromSoftware’s Bloodborne. Hopefully its development process won’t be as turbulent and tumultuous as the original. Its release date has yet to be announced, but it’s due this year. Park Beyond
Park Beyond, a game in the theme park simulation genre from Limbic Games, adds a twist. Impossification is a clever way to say that you can defy the laws of gravity and create ludicrous rides which would terrify your guests (and safety inspectors).

Park Beyond, with its colorful cast of enemies and allies to face, looks to bring a new flavor to the theme park genre.
Starfield
Bethesda released a teaser for a new space RPG, Starfield. The game was originally scheduled for release in 2022, but was then delayed to the first half 2023. Now, the company has set a firm release date for the game: September 6, 2023.
The two-minute trailer, which was first released in 2018, didn’t include any gameplay but did give a glimpse of the aesthetics and what to expect. Starfield is often compared to Skyrim, but in space. Existing fans shouldn’t have a hard time adapting.

Rise of Ronin will take you to the Bakumatsu period in Japan (late 19th Century), when the country was opening up to foreign influences and battling internal conflicts between oppressive rulers and deadly diseases. You’ll be a customizable warrior who has no master and will have to navigate a world that is ravaged by war.
As with Nioh and Sekiro, you can expect stylish third-person melee combat in a dynamically-generated world. The trailer also suggests a slew of landmarks to explore, artefacts to unearth, and territories to plunder, plus a story with multiple paths. It sounds like Ghost of Tsushima but with more action and Team Ninja’s knack for combining history and beautifully choreographed battles.
Fable 4
The Fable series has seen its ups and downs. Fable 4 is the latest in a series of role-playing games that has taken a while to arrive. It’s actually been in development since over four years. The Fable game is not what fans expected. Microsoft announced the game during their Xbox Showcase. Details have been scarce since. Fable 4 will be a rebooted version of the series, with Playground Games, the developer behind Forza Horizon at the helm.
While there haven’t been many details about the gameplay, rumors suggest the studio is looking to make the action more dynamic than previous entries. Combat will probably focus on bigger battles rather than fighting small groups of enemies. This will make the battles feel more epic, and keep them from becoming repetitive.
The biggest news of all is that Albion’s only available on Xbox Series X or PC. PlayStation users will not be able to visit Albion in the near future. The game should release on Xbox Game Pass when it launches to allow as many people to play this iconic RPG.
